Our Story

Not long after I began working at First Church, the children’s ministry team and I started receiving really important questions that we just couldn’t answer on the spot. People were looking for guidance and help, asking questions like

How do I tell my kids that their grandfather is dying? What resources do you have to help?

My kids are fighting a lot, what do you recommend?

My kid is asking big questions about life and faith, and I’m not sure what to say. Do you have a resource that could help?

The children’s ministry team and I didn’t have immediate answers to these questions, but we felt inspired to explore them. These were important questions. And, we were determined to explore them, find resources, and to become a resource for our community. Just like that, the library idea was born.

Beginnings Family Library is a place where the whole family can begin to explore their deepest questions and find not just books, articles, projects, stuff, but people who are willing to listen and explore along with you.
